I love it when people who are fucked in the head when it comes to relationships write blogs/xangas about what it takes to be in a successful relationship. It makes me want to dragon punch the nearest kitten.
And in order to save me from being called a hypocrite, which is probably true, what I write is mostly for me. Yeah, I can say this is how i think this is and that is how I think that is, and blah blah, but that's my life, and will work for me. Not for you. You shouldn't try to do/follow what I say, becuase doing that is like following a human sized millipede through a mine field. Not a good idea, and really gross.
So you dont have to look to my blog for advice on life, because hey, making that kind of mistake is your choice. You fool. LOL.
This blog is really pretty much the first sentence. I wrote this because I was doing my usual xanga blog crawl, and I came across a xanga of a person who has probably one of the most fucked up lovelife and views on relationships. Their whole entry is reminiscent of a shitty Dr. Phil rant about what are the major factors in a good relationship. Patience, understanding, good communication...which is clearly bullshit because everyone knows that the major factors in a good relationship are nachos, number 9 at Togo's, and microwaving marshmellows and laughing at them.
Okay, while I'm killing time before this meeting, let's talk what's attractive bout girls. I mean lets face it, girls are beautiful creatures. Everything a girl does is cute. Even when a girl farts or burps, it's cute (well, maybe not EVERY girl. SOME girls have farts that tear through the very fabric of reality. SOME girls have farts that open up doorways to other dimensions full of awe and amazement. YOU know who you are. heh)
shit. ran out of time. We'll continue this later. Fo shizzle.
My perspective is a blog better make you laugh or make you think. I'm trying to keep it real while keeping it funny. Life isn't always humorous, but one's perspective on it can and should always be. Heavy on the funny, heavy on the sarcasm.

another weekend that's much too short. damn.
Friday. Slept. Woke up. Went to SF, place called Syn Lounge with Bryant, Julie, Shannon. Danced not so good. Off beat. Life lesson learned. Drank a beer and a gin and tonic. Good stuff. Went home. Thought about some stuff. A reintroduction of feelings long forgotten. Sleep.
Saturday. Woke up late. Went to have lunch with Daco, Norm, and Cynthia. Sushi maru. Horrible service. Pissed me off. NO japanese restaurant should EVER have bad service. That shit is an insult against the motherland. Fuck that place. They did give a lot of food tho. Ate, chilled, bought some manju. Headed home. Nap. Shaved with a brand new razor..one of the best shaves of my life. Went to dinner for Jeff's bday. Had leftover food from Julie's party. Werd. Went to downtown San Jose with Bryant, Julie, Shannon, Bob, Jeff, Lily. Temple. Got crowded. Went to Loft. Much better. Cute girls with fobberts*. FUCKING REGGAE followed me everywhere. Saw a fight in the parking lot. It was a drunk viet guy trying to drive and his friends were keeping him from driving. Why do angry drunk viets always have to take their shirts off? So it was basically a shirtless guy fighting with 8 of his fully clothed friends. They ram his head into Bryant's bumper. Bryant laughs. Lily walks up to fight with pita in hand. I sit back and enjoy the show. Guy eventually gets carted off by his friends. As he walks by he says "slkj lkhjfas;l alkjasdf" which means "what you looking at???, but remember, this guy has a strong viet accent and he's drunk, thus understanding him is quite difficult. Get in car. Drive home. Bryant drunk as shit. Singing, putting head on my shoulder. Get home. Bryant runs to find andy. I follow. He finds out andy is inthe bathroom. Andy forgets to lock door. Bryants throws open door. Hilarity ensues. We all eat some more food. Jon gets home. Chill till 5. Head home. Go to sleep at 6.
(* a fobbert is a guy who has that typical asian fob haircut where they shave everything except for a small circle of hair on the top of their head, which they then spike up. They look like fucking bert from sesame street. It looks hella stupid and i'm glad i never did that shit. Yes i'm judging and i don't give a shit because the fact that it looks stupid ain't an opinion - 4 out of 5 dentists agree with me - and that makes it a fact, son)
Sunday. Wake up hella late. Sit around. Sit around some more. Sit around some more. Meet up with Tony at eastridge for dinner. Talk. Go to barnes and noble. Buy two mags. Get home. Phone call from Mel, who i haven't talked/seen in a long ass time. Chill some more, and here I am now. It's 1220am and i'm about to go to bed, to start this damn work week all over again.
One of these days I'm going to take off work early and go shopping. I want more nike dunks, more shirts, some thin ties, and whatever else i can find. Gotta head back to the cardroom at some point too. I think i'm gonna start writing again too.
gotta keep going to the gym. Stay positive. It's getting easier.
another vegas trip is in the works, with hopefully another vegas trip before it. Also a trip to yosemite. Also a kickball tourney. I also think it's about time I headed down to SD too at some point. Just gotta get Daco to drive and i'll pay him gas money. Yup.
Had several conversations about guys/girls/relationships this weekend. pretty fucking interesting stuff. The interactions between guys/girls will never cease to amaze me. Seriously. I think it's all fucking hilarious.
I think it's about time I got off my ass and was a little more proactive when it comes to the dating game. It's been a long ass time yo, and I've been more than ready to move on to the next thing.
It's good to be persistent, to be hopeful, to be undeniably sure of what you're doing. But at some point, all that heart turns into stupidity if you can't just let shit go. I think letting something go, and always looking at the positive side of something, is way more precious and important than hanging on until you've wasted everything away and you're left with nothing but lost time and friends who have become acquaintances. Don't assume what i'm talking about here is a girl, or a friend. I'm talking about LIFE and EVERYTHING in it.
Not just with what you've done, but with what you HAVEN'T done. You can regret an action, and you can regret doing no action too. But pretty it's like, anything that is no longer the present you gotta let it go.
But enough about talking. I'm tired of it. I just gotta act from now on. Take the Tony approach. Time to jump first and over analyze later. Crazy actions are only stupid if you don't learn from them, if you take the injuries you suffer personally, or if you're just dumb as shit. Luckily, I'm dumb as fuck, which is in an entirely different league of dumbness.

k a few other random thoughts i've had during work.
I can't seem to get vegas out of my head as i have before. This trip was crazy. I didn't do that much, but the stuff I did is sticking with me. So much so that mentally I'm still there. I want to go back so bad cuz I had so much fun. I'm not even here at work in my head. I'm still at the tables, drinking with my friends and hitting the dance floor. Sweet. I may do a recap in my next blog, or maybe not, and just keep it to myself. This was definitely a "what happens in vegas, etc." trip (i didn't do anything THAT crazy..it was just different).
I need to go to the san jose museum of art on the 28th of this month cuz i haven't been there yet, and there's an exhibit on MC Escher, on both his art and hip hop career.
Movies I need to see: The Departed, Pan's Labyrinth, Letters from IwoJima, Stomp the Yard (perhaps..just to check out the stepping, cuz i know the story is gonna suck balls).
I'm still keeping up the resolutions as much as possible and still learning a lot about myself as each day goes by. The drive to accept myself as I am has me craving to be more social and outgoing. It's something thatI don't think I've matured in, especially in dealings with the opposite sex. Time to change that. And there's only one way to: straight into the danger zone like Maverick and Dr. Green.

But all in all, it was a good year..no, a GREAT year. This year helped me realize what I'm capable of..and that's a whole lot more. There's no time like right now to make the next minute better than the last, and i'm gonna try to the fullest extent that I can.
End.
Okay. Man. What a week thus far. Yesterday I worked 12 hours. Today I woke up at 6AM to get o a call with a coworker from new york. Then I got a last minute notice about a meeting at 7AM. good thing I woke up so damn early! So after a pointless meeting with the guy from New York, I left home, but first had to SCRAPETHE ICE off my windows (wtf). Then I realized that i had NO fuel. But I had to get to the office before the telecon meeing started, so just crossed my fingers and hoped I'd make it. I did. I ran inside, only to find that everyone was late. And they didn't start for ten minutes later. That meant I could have gone to get gas. Damn. In the meantime, I've had two more meetings, a test session with a participant, got three new assignments, and have been trying to get a hold of two people who apprently do not know how to answer an email. Sweet. So I think I will be here till about 6.
I think for these reasons, I think I will enjoy this weekend in Vegas very much so. Even thought I'll only be there from Friday night to Sunday midday, it will be nice to get away, even if for one weekend. It was pretty hard getting my brain back into "work mode" after having a sweet two weeks off. But that's "real life". Maybe I'll win 500k this weekend at vegas, and i'll stress a little less about money. If that does happen, then everyone gets a large order of friends from mcdonalds on me. The good thing about vegas, is i think i'm going again in Feb and again in April...i think. It's hard to say right now because right now it's just a thought. On other people's minds. But that's fine. I don't mind not planning trips. I just have to decide which vegas trip is going to be THE trip. Yes. THE vegas trip will be the one trip where we go all out. Table service, nice restaurants, spa treatments, suite at the venetian or bellagio, the whole nine. yup. Cuz money be damned, I wanna do it once before I get older and uglier.
k breaks over. back to work.
End.

aight. Lets go. This blog is way overdue.
aight i'd better make a note cuz i have a head cold and i'm kinda groggy
-2006 NYE party
-2006 recap
Before I start on that, I'd like to say props to Cal for beating Texas A&M at the Holiday Bowl. It's too bad that Lynch is going into the draft, but I can't blame him. Talent like that sometimes just can't wait. Good thing they have Forsett. Looking forward to next season.
I also got a chance to chill with Grace K. She stopped by on her way up to Oregon. I hadn't seen her in years, so it was really nice to grab a bite to eat and catch up with her. I wish I could have hung out more with her, but I had an early meeting the next day. Hopefully I'll be better about keeping in touch with her after today.
NYE Party
The JAB house has been the location of many a party in the past few years. Post-obon parties, just for the hell of it parties, birthday parties. etc. However, I will say that this NYE party that took place there was probably one of the best, if not THE best party that's been thrown there. I headed over there early to buy and set up Jon's xmas present (a better dance floor for the garage). I must say, I had my reservations, as last year I know that they ate crepes and watched TV. However, the party was AWESOME.
For the following reasons:
1) There was HELLA people. Tons of people showed up: our crew, bob's crew (even Pat), jeff, mark, mike, Greg and Christy, Gina and David, friends of friends, etc. It was fucking awesome.
2) There was HELLA dancing. With the improved dance floor, music, and lighting, the garage was given the title of "Club Lucious" by Pat, and thanks to a buzzed shan and bryant, everyone was in there shaking what they momma's gave them. There was a drunken break dancing contest, booty dropping contest..I unsuccessfully tried to rap along with Snoop/Warren G/Kurupt on "ain't no fun" (too drunk). It was fucking awesome.
3) Everyone was drinking and having a good time. NO DRAMA, SON. Even greg and christy were drinking and having a good time. It was awesome. Nothing but laughs, jokes, smiles, good times...just the way I wanted 2006 to end and 2007 to start. Well, maybe with a few less embarassing photos. But you take your lumps with the good stuff. hehe.
There were THREE bottles of Effen vodka (the drink of the moment). Good food, and I was only minimally hung over the next day.

Recap of 2006
I have begun this thing where I don't like to point out all of the ways and means by which i've changed. I feel by doing that, I'll lessen the impact of it upon myself, and also it makes me feel like I need to brag about it so that people can see it. I would much rather people see it for themselves, and come to their own conclusions.
I will say thought that this year has been the biggest year for me in terms of growing, both emotionally and mentally. I've realized that a lot of the things that I used to put value on, really aren't that important in order to lead a fulfilling life. I've realized that I need to respect myself more, and be more positive. If you lead a life without respecting yourself, then all of your actions will only serve to fill the void that you feel inside. Why do you think that some people can't be alone, or why they're in a relationship simply to be in one? I could never see the difference between respecting oneself and being full of oneself, and now it's crystal clear. I look forward to 2007 and all that happens.
I finished graduate school and got a full time job. I'm still living with my parents and my brother, which has allowed me to become closer with all of them. I'm amazed that my parents still put up with me and my brother, still doing a lot of thankless work for us (laundry, etc.), and haven't given us an ultimatum of when we need to move out by.
This year, has served to show me that there is no place for me to go -- that life can be good no matter where you are, it's just a matter of what you make of it. There is SO MUCH that I still haven't done here in the bay area that I want to. I'm hoping to do a lot of it in 2007.
My life this year has been sustained by two things: my friends, and dancing. My friends up here make things tolerable and enjoyable. They take the bad and make them good. We 're all different, and we all don't get along at certain times, but that's what makes the friendships work. If nothing changed, shit would be boring, and I'd be forced to start drama to come up with new things to discuss (Chris Rock: "Did I tell you about the one time?" "YEAH you told me about the one time! Why don't you have some new shit happen to you!?"). Anyways, my friends keep me from going crazy. Doesn't matter if we're chilling at obon, or sitting around doing nothing till 6am, it's always fun.
Learning the basics of popping has done wonders for my perspective on dancing and clubbing. I used to not be able to clubbing without an equal number of girls to guys. I used to do nothing but the two step. Now, I look at clubbing outings as practice sessions. Popping has allowed me to really feel the music and not worry so much about how I look (well to a certain point). It always puts me in a good mood too.
Not that everything that happened this year was positive. There are things which I can't mention on this blog which have made me take a step back. Made me angry, frustrated, diappointed. I hate to be cryptic, but it's going to have to be that way. Mainly because with some of these events I'm simply trying to forget them or still deal with them. ALL GOOD LEARNING EXPERIENCES =)

2006 Resolutions up in hurrrr
the obligatory and all too cliche recap of 2006 will be written tomorrow.
Tonight before I crash I'll just write my resolutions:
1) Lose body fat percentage by any healthy means necessary. My goal is to drop 8-10% of my body fat. I don't care about the weight no more. I just wanna ditch the fat. I wanna be cut and lean. This may be a far stretch and a crazy goal, but it's something that I need to do. Now that I'm thinking with a more positive mind, and using the positive attitude to motivate, I think I can do it. That means exercise everyday, eating healthy, exercising EVERYDAY. I can do this. I know I can. I want 4 percent gone by April and the other 4 percent gone by July. I can't wait to see myself on the other side. No pain, no gain.
2) Keep up the positivity. I realized a lot this year. A lot about myself, and about my attitude towards life. I'll leave the rest of this for tomorrow's blog. But yeah. This year gotta keep up the positive. I just gotta keep remembering that it's all about perspective. That sounds so cliche, but it's not. This is the reason why it's always good to talk things out. It changes perspective. Your house can be burning down in front of you, and later on, you can still smile about it as long as your perspective is right. It's not "my house fuckin' burned down", it's "Thank goodness my family and I got out and are okay".
3) Keep on strengthening the connection between my friends and I. Though i've known a lot of the people up here for a good part of my life, a friendship can never be completely completed. With both parties constantly changing, there is always something new to talk about, something new to laugh about, something new to connect on. But it's not something you can put on autopilot. For that reason, this year I want to keep finding new things to do with my friends. Camping, hiking, new restaurants, vegas trips, road trips, etc. etc. There is still so much to do in the bay area and I'm going to find it dammit.
As for the SD friends that I've lost touch with, I will gladly look forward to any opportunities to catch up with them. Until then I'll simply be glad that I had such quality friends in my past, and hope the best for them.
4) Stop comparing. I believe the weakest part of my being is that I am constantly comparing myself to others. In both a bad way and a good way (both being bad), meaning I'm either putting myself down or putting others down. There is a Buddhist saying: "We condemn others for their wrongdoings, yet remain completely unaware of our own". I REALLY need to pound into my head that all of us are on the same level. So easy to say, so hard to do. I am no better than anyone else, and no one is better than me. Period. Except on the dance floor: I'm sorry but if you dancing the fool I'm gonna have to laugh. But i'm laughing at you, not with you. And no, that is not a typo.
5) Less advice giving, more listening. Have you guys seen that kleenex commercial where the fool puts out a couch and asks people to just sit down and talk? I guess the new kleenex slogan is "let it out". Anyways, it's so true. When people talk about stuff, they don't want answers. They want someone to listen. They want to talk it out because when you hear yourself talk it out, it can change your perspective. You can't talk to yourself because it just don't work. You need someone to listen to you. To help you understand yourself. I learned that myself along the way. And so i need to start practicing it. If people want answers, they'll ask. Otherwise I will just be someone that will sit, and listen. Besides, no one is going to do something just cuz your ass told them to. They have to believe it for themselves.
Other less important resolutions:
5) Get better at poker
6) Spend more money on my myself (I'm too damn money hungry)
7) BE HAPPY.
8) Get better at poppin'. Find cool dance practice spots.
More tomorrow (2006 recap, including the JAB house party) Now it's time for bed.
