Okay. Lunch time, so I can continue.
So we get to Tao. We meet up with some really young nsu people, but we got cut off from one another at the line, so we couldn't get in. So then we tried to get bottle service, but they told us we'd have to buy TWO bottles for four people, meaning each of us would be spending 250 at least. Bullshit. So finally we're trying to find four girls so we can get in, and this shady, old guy says to us, "I can get you in for 75 a piece, and that includes cover." We figure that cover is 30 bucks and we were wiling to spend 150 each for a bottle, so we go with it. The guy brings his nephew over who apparently knows someone at the front. But it becomes clear that the guy is trying to scam us. He goes to the front, where he is turned away unless he can find some girls. So he grabs a couple girls and then he gets us to the front where he then tells us that we'll have to pay cover anyways, but he'll cover only 100 of our cover. So my friend alan gets in his face and says that we didn't need his help anyways and that if we have to pay cover then he better give us back our money. So the guy finally says okay, he'll pay for all over our cover. I dunno what he's whining about. He made a quick 180, which is a lot less than the 300 he would have gotten, but that's what he gets for trying to scam. I'll never do that again. I honestly was fine with not going in, but i didn't want to poop on the party. Next time I'll either go with bottle service, or just go somewhere else. But no matter..we were in.
So we finally get inside and it's okay for the first hour. Then it gets SUPER PACKED. I mean crazy packed. I'm talking like if there was a fire I would have been guaranteed dead. Like Men's Warehouse guaranteed. So there's no room to dance and no room to breathe and no room to do shit. The music is okay tho, as the DJ did a good job of mixing. If there had been room to dance I probably would have had a great time. I didn't have a horrible time, I just had an okay time.
However... remember...it's me and three guys. That means I have two choices: I can either hang on to the nsu peoples and feel like a tag along who needs to be babysat because he didn't bring any girls with him, OR I can walk through the dance floor with the guys and become "The Train" (See this post and see "The TRAIN"). And I'm not down with that. And the chances of me getting the balls to ask a girl to dance? Please. So dancing was out. Chilled for a couple of hours, danced when I could, then bounced.
So what have we learned from this weekend, in pure random fashion:
1) APPARENTLY, WINE IN A STEAKHOUSE WAS MADE FROM THE FIRST GRAPES EVER GROWN BY MAN - Okay, I get it. People like drinking wine with their dinner because it enhances the flavor. Right. However, that doesn't mean that you should charge so much that I'm expecting that I'll have to change my boxers after the first sip. I mean dude, if you're going to change over a bill for a bottle of wine, I better get at least a good hug from every person who works at the restaurant.
2) "WATER" IN A CLUB IS MADE FROM THE SWEAT OF THE GODS - When I was at Mix, I was thirsty, so I ordered water. They gave me a bottle of voss water and then dude said "8 bucks". Whoa. Hold on sir. I didn't say "give me a bottle of water from the top of mt. everest". 8 BUCKS!!! That's 8 TWO LITER BOTTLES OF COKE, or 16 tacos from jack in the box!!! That's insane! It's almost as if they WANT you do die from alcohol poisoning. I then asked for a glass of water instead and the bartender jump kicked me in the face. Sigh.
3) GO OFF THE STRIP FOR BETTER FOOD - Eating on the strip will guarantee two things: 1) You'll be overcharged 2) you'll get worse service and the quality of food will be roughly at the same taste of Denny's on a good day.
4) "TIME FOR A DRINK" MEANS TIME TO GO- A girl mentioning that she's thirsty is girl club speak for "buy me a damn drink for putting up with your off-beat freaking". At that point, either buy her a drink, run away, or buy her a drink and run away.
5) "I'M DOING THIS BECAUSE I LOVE YOU" - While at the airport, I saw a asian mom. She was wearing a hot pink (I mean HOT) hoodie and sweats. All three of her daughters were wearing the exact same thing. It was a pink mess. I mean, it's one thing if you and your entire family are wearing blue. But when you're some crazy ass color, that's a whole different story. And you KNOW that shit was forced. "No mommy! I don't want to wear hot pink like you!" "We're a family! What mommy wears, YOU WEAR".
6) WHY DO YOU NEED TO HOLD HANDS??? - I know I've said it before, but why do people feel the need to hold hands in the club??? THE CLUB IS NOT THAT BIG. And it's never one or two girls. It's always 10 girls, with the bitch boyfriend at the end, being lead like a neutered dog.
There is a simple solution for this: you say "If you get separated, meet at the bar at the far end" or something to that extent. I mean..come on! Okay, look ladies, if you're going to ruin my rhythm and make me stop dancing, or bump me and my friends, how bout this: instead of holding hands, grab a different part of your friend's anatomy (hint hint) that way, we all win.
7) APPARENTLY GRANDMA LIKES SOULJA BOY - Okay, I dunno about you, but when I turn 35 I really hope if I say to someone "Hey lets go clubbing", that I get pounded back into reality. There were some serious "Give me an Ensure on the rocks" folks up in Tao. I had several dozen "WTF" moments. I'm not trying to hate, but I mean if you look old enough to be my grandma, and if you paying for your drinks with your social security check, then maybe your ass is a LITTLE too old to be in there. And it doesn't matter how much you like hip hop - if you a 57 year old lady with wrinkles, wearing a faux mink sausage thing that you wear around your shoulders, you WILL look stupid bobbing your head to Timbaland. Sorry to be harsh, but if you that old, then knock back some Earl Grey, take out the teeth, and hit the sheets at 9pm cuz you too damn old to be up in the club.
Back to work..shit..not enough time..more blogging later
My perspective is a blog better make you laugh or make you think. I'm trying to keep it real while keeping it funny. Life isn't always humorous, but one's perspective on it can and should always be. Heavy on the funny, heavy on the sarcasm.

Vegas trip and other things
oh another weekend.
two things first tho. Jessica Biel is fucking hot as HELL. Seriously. Big props to JT for that MAJOR UPGRADE from the Joker to smoking hot Jessica Biel. Yeah. Girls is super hot. And that tattoo she has makes her even hotter. And yes, I know this is old news, but you know me. I'm just coming into fads from way back when. I just found out yesterday and pegging your jeans is out, and apparently wearing a backpack is NOT cool. Damn. Anyone got a prom pic? I got room in my dayrunner [inside joke yo...taking it back to '95]
You hear about how Timbaland straight stole this song made by this guy a long time ago so that he could use it in Nelly Furtado's song "Do it"? If you want the full store, go on wikipedia and look for it. Anyways, someone mixed the original song and timbaland's bite song, it's pretty good. download it here.
I also hit up the best pho restaurant I've been to yet in the bay area, thanks to Shan. While there we overheard a bunch of fobs conducting an english lesson. Please ask for a repeat of this story next time you see me, but it is an absolute must that Shan is there, because she's the only one I know who has mastered the "art" of FOBese. She's taken 27 years of FOBese, because when you live in ESSJ you learn it WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT.
This weekend I went to vegas. I left on Thursday night, headed to SD, then drove to LV from there. I slept in the back as usual, and paid for it with heavily sore legs. Took the day off Friday from work, which was nice. The drive was okay. Lots of traffic, and it was raining like all hell. Saw a billboard that I didn't get. It was a billboard for Hooters. Someone please explain it to me, because just like a cool rep, I didn't get it (did you get that last joke? No? Shit.)
Anyways..the billboard shoes a dog taking a piss on a orange fire hydrant. Next to the dog are the words "Play married". And that's it. WTF. Can anyone explain what that means? I don't get it. And by the time we were five miles down the road, I was banging my head against the dashboard trying to get it out.
Got to Vegas, went to the MGM Signature (Thanks JD). Damn that place is nice. Seriously. No smoking anywhere on the premises, no slot machines or anything. Super clean. Free water in the rooms. 24 hour room service, free internet. Sick. Good cafe, starbucks on site. Werd. And now we break it down.
Food: I went to two new places this trip. I was going to go to Makino's (got another review from my parents who said it was "the shit, son!" (actually, "it was really good")) but when we met up with a local friend, she said we should check out this sushi place, Sushi Hana, because it was better. I gotta admit the sushi WAS pretty damn good, and a lot better than Wonder Sushi (the days of Wonder Sushi are over). It was all you can eat, made to order, so that was cool, plus we got unlimited green tea ice creams. Well, I didn't cuz of my damn diet.
We also went to a steakhouse called Del Frisco's off the strip. Pretty tasty. I got the 12 oz filet mignon, plus we got mushrooms, garlic green beans, and potatoes au gratin. The meat was damn good..when they served it, the waitress was like "please cut your meat to the very center to check that it's perfect", then she waited for all of us to do so, and even whipped out a flashlight so we could see it clearly. Crazy. The potatoes were damn good, and the mushrooms were good too...the beans were a bit undercooked. Service was damn good. And even after we paid the check, they kept bringing us water. Of course, we also got wine. And the wine was chosen by Mike. A 160 dollar bottle of wine. I hate you mike. LOL. Nah it was good wine, but I think next time I'll pass on that. The 24 dollar bottle of wine I got from Cooper-Garrod was a lot better. The waiter was hella cool too. He had a New York accent and was funny as hell. What was even funnier was the fact that 1) He talked hella loud 2) His manner of speaking would change depending on who he was talking to. So one second he's talking to a table next to us with two old ass people and asking them about their trip and if everything was to their expectations and being polite and all that. The next second he's telling us about how he had moved from Florida to Vegas, and was newly single after 6 years with the same girl, and now that he's "fresh meat", he can't keep the girls off of him, and how when people come to vegas, they have two things on their minds, to get drunk and get laid. LOL. I'm definitely going back there next time I go to vegas. It was only 50 bucks for the meal (minus the wine) per person.
Gambling: I didn't gamble as much as I wanted to, which was kind of a disappointment for me, but that's okay -- there's always the next trip. So here's the gambling for this trip:
Blackjack - played blackjack after hitting up Mix. Won 100 bucks, then lost it. Minh went on a tear here. We were all kind of buzzed, and so there was a lot of yelling when we won. The dealer was the most boring dealer ever. He didn't say SHIT. Even when someone tipped him, he was just like "thanks" in the most ingrateful tone ever. He would keep checking his watch. What a bitch. Then this girl comes to the table with her friend...she's sorta cute, all dressed up..she says: "what is this?"
"Blackjack"
"What's that? I don't know how to play [giggle]"
She sits down. Puts down 15 bucks, gets a blackjack, gets paid.
"What happened?"
"You got blackjack! Nice!"
"Does that mean I win?"
"Yes"
"So do I get money?"
"Yes"
"yay! [giggle]".
Who doesn't know how to play blackjack?? BTW, she was blond, but I'm sure that's just coincidental. Here's the funny thing tho. As soon as the girl sits down, the dealer, who is, btw, an old creepy foreign dude, starts getting super talkative. He keeps saying for us to give her money because "she's cuter than you". Wow. WTF. I hereby official name that dealer "Cowpie" because his game is SHIT. It was pitiful and funny at the same time. He kept trying to get the girl's friend to sit down and play too. And the whole time, no words for the rest of us.
Anyways, so then Minh goes to play at another table with a korean dealer. Mistake number one. One of his chips rolls away into her tray, she doesn't see, so he grabs it. Bad move. Mistake number two. Krage time. She starts saying all this fobese about how he can't do that and all that. Keep talking. Okay we get it. Keeps talking. She grows wings and flies around the room throwing kimchee fireballs and spitting soju. Luckily it was time for church, so she flew off and left us alone. Stereotype much? Anyways, it was all true until the "grows wings" part. Anyways, after that we played a little more. Anyways, that dealer will be thusly named "kragey".
Meanwhile, I had stopped playing blackjack and moved on to something else. Which leads me to...
Roulette: I sat down at a 15 dollar minimum table. Bad move. I decide to use the CK method, which paid me off pretty well last time, so I put down 60 bucks total. First roll. The stupid fat asian dealer rolls a double zero. Nice. Then she SHRUGS. okay. If your'e a dealer and you deal someone a losing hand, no need to feel bad. It's not your fault, it's the cards/dice/white ball/etc. But DON'T 1) smile 2) shrug like it ain't nothing. This dealer will be named "punk ass" because that's what she IS. Man WTF. Don't shrug like it's nothing!!! That 60 bucks could have bought you an eyebrow clipper and a jump rope, you rotund bizatch. Then I put down the rest of my money on red. And she rolls a black. She must have been cranky, and hungry. Definitely hungry. I know this like I know the sky is blue.
Later on, I played a roulette machine. The machine rolled two zeros within five rolls of one another. Dammit. Luckily I came out even.
Craps: I didn't play craps AGAIN. Dammit.
Slot machines: Okay, once upon a time I was on a vegas trip and I played this slot machine called "Enchanted Unicorn". I won. I then played "Leprechaun's Gold", went to Rainbow Land (the bonus) and won. Last trip I went, I played Lucky Seals. This established my slot machine rule: Find the fruitiest machine you can, and play it, and you will win. I got the bonus on Seals, but I only won like 7 bucks. I then moved over to Pegasus, and prompty won a larger bonus. Nice. Thank you, you fantasticly winged beast! Try it. I guarantee you'll win, as long as the machine is fru-fru.
I played wheel of fortune one time, and got two spins in less than ten plays. I stopped 15 bucks up because I didn't want to risk it. I then moved over to the multi-play blackjack machine, where you can play 7 hands simultaneously against the dealers hand. Won there.
Clubbing: On Friday night, we went to Mix at Mandalay Bay. It was kinda crowded, but had lots of room on the side. The crowd was definitely chill. We got some drinks, and I got a cigar with Mike because I didn't want him to have one by himself. Ugh. I think that's the last cigar I'll have. It was just too strong for me, and way too long (insert joke about my last sentence here).
Now, it has to be pointed out that I went to Vegas with 3 other guys. 3 other guys who don't dance much, unless they're drunk. Now there are two kinds of clubbing for me.
1) Dancing clubbing - when I feel like popping. It's expected that there will be room to dance, and you're going to dance. Drinking is rare (might have one or two to loosen the legs). Doesn't matter if the group is more guys than girls. Battle circle. You might dance with someone, but maybe not.
2) Party clubbing - Club will probably be packed. You're going to dance, but also to get your drink on. Need to have (in order of preference...lowest to highest): a) girls in your group. b) equal number of girls to guys. c) more girls than guys, but not so much that you as the lone guy, look like you're "one of the girls", so to speak. This is pretty much SF clubs, and ALL vegas clubs. You're definitely going to dance with someone, and most likely it'll be the two step or just getting your freak on.
Okay so now that i've pointed that out, let me say that Mix was okay with the group. We were just chilling and drinking. The "dance floor" was a joke because it was small, and there were 4 people on there dancing so off beat it was amazing. But I was buzzed so I'm sure I wasn't much better. I was dancing for like 10 minutes but it didn't look like anyone else wanted to get their dance on, so we took off. I think Mix is best left to weekdays when you can go and sit whereever you want, and even then, it's best to go with guys and lots of girls, so you can all chill on the giant mattress outside and enjoy the view.
Saturday we went to Tao. UGH. Now the story begins. But I'm going to have to finish this tomorrow because I need to sleep. Part 2 tomorrow.

Okay, first I saw the tagline for this article...it read: "Drunk man gets stuck in ex's chimney". That made me laugh. Then I read the article. There are about 3 places in this article that made me literally laugh out loud. Can you guys the part where I laughed the hardest? It's because of the mental picture I had.

Oh the stupidity of human beings. It knows no bounds and never ceases to amaze me.

oh the thoughts. The thoughts. Wow. I been thinking a lot. And not about bad stupid things. just about - as usual - human nature. Anyways, we'll get to that.
The weekend was cool. Friday had a home cooked meal courtesy of Danielle. She invited a few of us over to the place she was house sitting at. Good food. Lots of it. And I could eat everything. Good.
Okay, seriously, I dont think I'll ever drink soda or juice ever again. I think the only time I'll drink juice is a) special occasions b) special breakfasts c) w/alcohol...and that's only sometimes. Only because juice is so easily drank...like, you open a carton or bottle of it, and you'll drink it all. And it's SO many calories and so much fucking sugar. I'll stick to water. I'd rather spend my calories in the food. Liquid is liquid. It'll fill you up, but not in a pleasing way. A good steak tho....that's a whole different story.
I hope to someday eat at the French Laundry, but it's a little expensive. There are two menus, both multi-servings...same price: $240 bucks...oh but have no fear, that's including tip. Sarcastic fucking yay. Oh, and here's the other thing: one menu is the normal one, and the other one is a VEGETARIAN ONE. Now, I'm not a cheap bastard, but if I'm paying TWO HUNDRED FORTY FUCKING DOLLARS ON ONE MEAL, THERE BETTER BE SOME MEAT. I'm not about to drop three bills on eggplant that costs like 4 bucks in the store just because it's made with some "special spices" in a "unique" way. If that's the case, then the waitress better be super hot, and then marries me at the end of the meal.
Saturday went to chill with my cousin, who brought me some omiyage from Japan. Thanks cuz. We caught up over pho.
Later on Saturday, went to Palo Alto to chill with Julia at Blue Chalk. Ugh. Blue Chalk. Crowded, shitty music, shitty dancers, shitty setup...chilled there for an hour surrounded by people I didn't know. Well, I did know some people there, but most of them were too cool for school due to the "I am was in an asian fraternity, and you're not, so therefore I gotta treat like you're an alien" or "I'm in a professional dance crew, and you're not, so therefore I gotta act like a dick, and treat you like I'm better than you". I'm not trying to hate, okay, but if you act like a dick for stupid ass reasons, then you're being a bitch, and thats the honest truth. Anyways, I digress - so was at blue chalk for a little while then went to get some mexican food.
Sunday - met up with Julia for coffee, which was cool. Talked for a few hours about everything, then headed to Fremont to get some din din with fiona and friends. It was cool.
Okay, I actually got some work to do, so I'll have to cut this blog short. But before I go, can someone tell me when Christina Ricci got so fucking hot??? Seriously. And she's only a day older than me (thank you wikipedia), so dude, it's like we were MEANT to get together. Right? Dur? lolz.

A couple things
-May 22, 2008. Indy's back, bitches. Grab your fedora, bullwhips, and leather jackets cuz it's gonna be fucking awesome. "Doooggg?? You are named after the dog!!!?? [laughs]" Damn. I can't wait. Best movie trilogy of all time, hands down.
-I recently saw one of the most random tv commercials ever. Here's how it went. Commerical begins. Man is fighting with his wife, an asian lady. They're yelling at each other. She runs out of the apartment and closes the door behind her. She's crying. She runs into a sunny field. there are people there. they all smile at one another. Then some words come on to the screen and a voice over starts. "the united methodist church". End of commercial. Wow!!! that's almost as good as the "head-on" commercial.
I'm offsite this week for a weeklong class. Joy. Oh wells, at least i'm learning.
This weekend Julia is coming in for a bit, and then next week i'm heading to Vegas. Sick, son.
Yesterday I didn't do shit and I was bored beyond words. I need to find some new hobbies dammit!! or...something else. it's always something else.

Damn. I've had this headache in my enormous head for 4 days now. It's pretty damn annoying. It goes away when i sleep, then like 10 minutes after I get up, it's back. It joined me for my 8am meeting, and it'll probably hang around until I can get some aspirin.
Anyways. What have I been up to.
This long weekend I went to LA. Brendan and I tagged along with Jon, who was going down for a wedding.
LA was hot as HELL. It was seriously like 108 degrees. WTF. So mad traffic, AND super uncomfortable weather?? Man. I love so cal. ZZZZ.
Anyways, the plan was to go play cards and see people. So we stayed at Commerce Casino (has a hotel connected to it). Okay, first the hotel. You would think that with how the casino looks on the outside that the rooms inside would make Imperial Palace feel like the Four Seasons. But NO. Shit was actually pretty damn nice! They get points knocked off for having the shittiest tv channel selection ever, and for having a housekeeping that goes home after a certain hour (vegas it ain't), but everything else was pretty damn good. Now for the casino: DUDE. DUDE. WORST POKER PLAYERS EVER. I have never seen people play SO bad. I mean, not that i'm complaining. In fact, it's actually kind of funny. I saw people call the floor manager over to ask if they could "move this fucking girl" to another table because she was winning so much money. People called each other "fucking idiots" for taking too long and for making bad calls and drawing out. One player pretended to hit the dealer, then told her to "fucking leave and never come back ever again until the end of time" (he was a FOB). But yeah..LOTS of bitching and complaining. My god. The real problem was this...COLD CARDS. Seriously. If I had just made a hand, I would have cleaned up, but NAY. Nothing but off suit low cards...I mean it got to the point where if I saw fucking A-10 off suit I was happy. And that's how it was for three days straight. I seriously think that place is nothing but bad luck, and I don't think i'm going to play there again. If you can't tell, I didn't win any money, and made a sizable contribution to the table fugs.
As for seeing people, I met up with Fiona (finally!), Loretta, and Celina for dinner. That was coo. Went to some place called Noodle World. This huge place that served a bunch of different kinds of asian food. It was aight. Saturday went to dinner with Minh/Cz...went to some gyu-kaku place in Pasadena. Hella food for 20 bucks. And it was good too. Could have been better. And this is coming from a guy who hasnt eaten fucking sugar/sauces/anything good in 3 months. So if something doesn't taste great to me, then you KNOW it's lacking the luster. After dinner, walked around old town pasadena, pulled into the gap and bought a couple things (finally got a pair of chucks). Then hit up a bar for a drink, then headed back to the hotel. All in all, it was something to do. It wasn't an action packed weekend full of fun and awesomeness, but it was definitely nice to get away from San Jose.
Yesterday was Labor day, a nice extension to the weekend. Headed over to jab house to chill, then headed over to brendan's place toget paid money I was owed find out that I actually owe him money. Then we shot some dice (another thing I'm not doing again unless I'm in vegas). Then I headed home. Street craps is lame because I have horrible luck when it comes to street craps. I remember the first time I played it I was in high school and we were shooting dice and betting quarters in the basement of one of the school buildings. I lost like 5 bucks. However, I will say that if we can roll like we did yesterday, then we will be rich folks in vegas..or we'll just make a lot of friends at the table because we'll be making people so much money.
Also spent some quality time with the fam. I swear I talk more with my parents now than I ever have. It's crazy. More on that later.
I need to calm down on the clothes buying for now. But dammit, there's still so much more I need!
People around me getting married. This one acquaintance of mine is getting married after dating the guy for a month and a half. She said that when you know, you know. Is that true? I mean, you can fall in love with someone in like a second, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it's love love. But this will be an interesting experiment to observe. It's either gonna be a fairly tale come true, or two drama trains slamming into each other. I got my popcorn ready because that's how bored I am.
Nothing else really going on. Kinda sad really. That brings up something Jon said. Is there something in life that you want to accomplish? Not really. I mean, I just want to enjoy myself. Keep finding new things to do. That's about it. TBC.
