I apologize for the lack of blog updates. i would blame it on the amount of work, but let's be honest. I'm just lazy and there hasn't been something significant enough going through my brain to warrant a blog. Actually no, it's just all laziness.

Anyways, I'm sure you've all seen that "25 random piece of shit about me" list going around facebook. I think i've been tagged about 100 times on people's lists. But I refuse to put that list up on facebook. Instead I'll put it here on my blog. I'm going to try my best to put interesting shit up. There is nothing worse than when one of these lists is simple, uninteresting items, or an ode to arrogance. That being said, don't expect an awesome list here. You should expect something halfway between shitty and "eh". It's pretty much going to be like 25 mini-blogs. So here we go:

"25 random things about me that you didn't care about" or "25 things that piss me off"

1) I always take a shower at night. Seriously, going to bed without showering is DISGUSTING. Don't get it twisted. It's gross. You're basically going to bed with all of the day's dirt on you. Then you repeat the process. Gross. It's like you're wearing the same shirt again and again without washing it. If you shower in the morning (aka if you're a hakujin), that's coo, but you're gross.

2) Speaking of showers, I have a long process to go through before I sleep: Take contacts out, shower, brush teeth, floss, rinse mouth with flouride mouthwash, wash face, take vitamin supplements, moisturize. But my morning process is super short: Brush teeth, wash face, out the door.

3) I love jello. I still remember seeing jello dessert cups in restaurants when I was a kid and being enamored with them. I don't remember any cakes or pies. I just remember the jello. How can anyone not like jello?? I think you need to have some serious taste bud issues if you don't like jello. BTW, finger jello is fucking awesome, but non-finger jello is extra fucking awesome. Add cool whip and now we're in the "change undershorts" area.

4) I can remember certain things strongly. Sounds like a brag huh? Well it would be if it wasn't for the fact that my "excellent memory" only applies to the most useless shit ever. I remember food scenes from most movies because I'm a fat ass, music videos, names of transformers and GI Joes, etc.

5) If you think I'm angry and bitter all the time, then you 1) don't know me at all 2) you don't understand my sense of humor.

6) When I was a kid, "Unsolved Mysteries" (Big props to Mick Magno for putting this on his list too) and "X-Files" used to scare the living shit out of me. Especially the former. I think it had to do with the combination of that CREEPY ASS music, an emotionless Robert Stack in a trench coat, the dialogue they used "..she got into the car..and WAS NEVER SEEN OR HEAR FROM EVER AGAIN", the fog. What REALLY fucked my brain up was when they showed the people's mug shots. Because of how a mug shot looks, it appeared that they were staring straight at me. That then lead to a fear that they would appear in my back yard or in the hallway. It didn't help that it was bedtime right after these shows.
Here are the 5 scariest ones I remember (they're not really that scary..I was a kid at the time)
a) Lady drinks some medicine and dies. Someone had poisoned her medicine. I remember that they focused on a tray of food that had been set out. It was scary to me that she had let someone in and they had killed her
b) Guy hides in a doctors office and then rapes all the nurses at gunpoint. The creepiest part was when dude told them to "take off their clothes" and "everything will be alright". WTF. That actor they got to play the part was spot on cuz with that voice he made you want to scrub your face with steel wool to get the slimy off
c) Dude comes up to a car where two people are fuckin. Dude pulls out a shotgun and fucking SHOOTS THEM! I remember this one because 1) My mom kept trying to block my view of the TV when it showed the chick taking her shirt off (it didn't even show anything!!! Public TV!!) 2) The guy who comes up to shoot them looks like some pissed off farmer. WTF!!! How could you just shoot some people who are having sex???? In the middle of the day??? Somebody's jealous.....
d) Lady gets kidnapped by an ex-bf. When the cops get to her place, there's just a book on her desk, and it's opened up to the only violent part in the book. (I think I pissed a little when I saw that...the text was HELLA scary). Then the cops go outside and see a message like "you'll never see her again". WTF.
e) This boy and girl get kidnapped. Some lady goes to a store and parks next to this white van. When she leaves she sees a poloroid on the ground. She picks it up and she sees the boy and girl, with fucking DUCT TAPE OVER THEIR MOUTHS and their hands tied up. and they KEPT SHOWING THE PHOTO. This is seriously the freakiest one I saw. This one fucking episode made me paranoid about getting kidnapped. Stupid fucking show...
As for X-files...all I gotta say is..the green bugs from the tree, and the FUCKING THING IN THE SEWER. That thing in the sewer was FUCKED UP. SERIOUSLY. Watching that episode made me want to yack.

7) I always sit at the same seat at dinner table. I've sat in that seat since I was born. I'll sit in another seat if I'm eating alone, but if there's other people at the table, it feels weird not to sit in "my" seat.

8) I have a bad habit of not keeping track of how long my fingernails and toenails are. This drives certain friends insane.

9) I think the internet and facebook have destroyed what people constitue as "good friendships". I sincerely think rather than using the internet and social networking sites as a way to BEGIN to reconnect with old friends, they use it as a placebo for effort in their existing friendships. Why call or write when you can just put a message on their wall?

10) When I was growing up, I had horrible fashion sense. Blame it on me and my parents. I had one pair of black hightop shoes that I would wear with everything. And let me tell you, black hightop shoes do not go with everything. I think the worst item I have ever owned was a yellow sweater that had garfield on the front saying "yo". Or a casion calculator watch. However the sweater item was owned in fourth grade, so it wasn't TOO bad. The calculator watch was high school and saved me in history class (ask me later). If I had either item today, I would rock it FO SHO. It is due to this past horrible fashion sense that I think I get such a kick out of shopping and finding clothes that I can actually look good in.

11) Speaking of bad fashion sense, when I was growing up, I did a few things that I got a lot of shit for by people:
-Wearing a backpack
-Wearing hightops with a single velcro strap at the top, which I would leave undone so they would hang out, closed.
-Tapered jeans that looked they went into my shoes.
For these items, and many more, I was laughed at and ridiculed. It didn't feel very good, to be honest. But I would get the last laugh when years later, the brothers started rocking all these looks! (and as everyone knows, everything black people do is cooooooooool!). These days, Kanye wears backpacks, T-pain wears air force ones with the single velcro strap hanging out, and everyone and their mom wears jeans that look like they're going into their shoes. I know, deep in my heart, that someday, yellow garfield sweaters will be all the rage.

12) I have a horrible sense of balance. For that reason, I can't skateboard, roller skate, ice skate, walk/run, talk right, do simple math, write quality blogs.

13) I love vegas. I can go to vegas once a month and not get tired of it. I love everything about vegas: gambling, eating good food, drinking, clubbing/lounging. But like all places, it’s about who you go with. That and I think it's because I'm immature. Everyone else is getting more mature, starting families, etc. I’m wondering what video game I will buy next and what kind of beer I’ll drink next time I go out.

14) I accidently slammed my brother's hand in the car door when we were kids. I still feel bad about that. But it's offset by the time he shoved me in the bathroom and I fell and chipped my tooth.

15) I constantly analyze and reanalyze everything. I used to do it to a fault. I figured if I can't do something or if I can't experience something, then I should at least understand it. Chris Rock said that "if ignorance is bliss, then what's the opposite? If you notice everything, then what's that? That's HELL". He's right." These days I don't do it as much. I realized a while ago that there’s no point in trying to figure out why thing are the way they are. I should be concentrating on my actions, not the existence of things.

16) Whenever I play video games, I never chose the female characters because I feel bad/responsible when they get hit/die.

17) I totally took my parents for granted up until college; I would argue, talk back – I was an asshole. Then I lived on my own, and I realized all that they had done for me. Then I started working and I realized all the things that they sacrificed so that my brother and I could have a head start in life. My parents are two amazing people and I’m extremely lucky. As far as I’m concerned, I have the best parents a guy could ask for. And that ain’t a brag. It’s a fact.

18) When I was a kid, I was scared that there might be a monster in the closet, so when I would get out of bed, I would jump kick into the closet so that I’d take out whatever was in there by surprise.

19) When I was a kid, I once read that the ancient Pythagoreans regarded even numbers as female numbers and odd numbers as male numbers. For years after that, I would do things in odd numbers because I felt like I should, since they were male numbers. Yeah.

20) When I was a kid, I had this thing about revenge. An eye for an eye. It probably had to do with an insecurity of not being walked all over. So even if I was angry at someone, if they hit me accidently, I would hit them back. So this one time, I was at bullwinkles and I felt someone brush me from behind. I turned and it was some lady with her bf. I got kinda irritated so I was like “okay, if you’re going to hit me then I’m going to hit you.” I walked by and stuck my hand up and “hit” ( more like brushed) her as I walked by. I kept my hand up to make it seems like it was an accident. The funny thing is this: I was a kid. I was short. The lady was tall. I walked behind her. So I basically brushed her on the ass. I still remember her turning around fast like “wtf” and looking around, but she neglected to look down. And by then I was a few feet way, happy that I had hit her back. Years later, I would understand why she was so “wtf” about it. I think about this and laugh every time I hear a story about how a girl got her ass grabbed by some guy in the club. You never know – it may just be a revenge hungry kid.

21) My grandma had a set of stairs in front of her house. My cousins and I used to slide down it. One time I slide down and my shorts decided to stay on the rail. I ripped that shit in half. I’m not embarrassed about it at all because it’s one of those thing you only see it movies and I’m amazed that I did it. What’s even more amazing? On that day, and ONLY that day, my mom for SOME reason, brought along an extra pair of shorts for me. It’s almost like she sensed that I was going to do something fucking stupid.

22) I overthink and overanalyze everything. I’m also obsessed with having a “normal/typical” kind of life. Since that is not the case, or rather since I perceive it to not be the case, I constantly feel as if something is bothering me. And then I can’t figure out what it is that’s bothering me. It’s a real fucking pain in the ass sometimes.

23) I constantly have dreams that I’m late for school and I can’t remember what my class schedule is, where my classes are. I’m also never have the homework. I HATE those dreams. They stress the shit out of me at a time when I’m supposed to be relaxing.

24) Thanks to my friend being a black belt and his teacher being hella cool, I was able to take kung fu classes basically free. For that reason, I learned all the material up to a green belt in the Shaolin-do Kung Fu school. I wish I had kept going with it.

25) Sorry, no 25. I had to really stretch it to get to 24.

I had three dreams last night:

The first one started off cool, but ended really fucked up. It was disgusting and gross. Something is seriously wrong with my brain.

The second one was cool. I was going to class, and of course, forgot what my schedule was, but made it just in time. It was a science class or something and there was like twenty people in this tiny ass room. I just happened to get teamed up for something with this cute white girl. Brunette. We then had to drive to some mall, and anytime there's driving involved in any of my dreams, it's always weird. So for tihs dream, we all took one car, and I had to sit behind the driver. Unfortunately, this car required both the person sitting in the driver's seat and the person sitting behind the driver, to steer. So I had to help drive. Which is kind of hard when you can't see what's in front of you because the chair is blocking my view. I was hanging out with this girl though and asked her out. She said yes. And all I remember thinking was, "man, my parents are gonna be like 'dude, why didn't you get with a japanese girl instead?'"

Third dream sucked. I dunno why I keep having this fucking dream, but I dreamt that I had my car stolen/lost. I walked back to wear my car was parked and it wasn't there. Then this girl comes running up and says "my car was just here!", and I think "fuck..if they stole her car, they must have stole my car too". So I look around for a sign with the police number to see if it was towed. So I call it up and then my dad picks up and I say "hey dad, bad news. My car got stolen again" (apparently even in my subconscience i know that it's bullshit that I keep dreaming this same crap again and again). My dad goes, "again? dang". Fortunately, I get a ride home from the girl from dream number 2. Apparently I'm so much the hotness that this girl will jump across dreams for me.

In other news, I will be buying Dolce and Gabbana eyeshadow. Why? Have you seen the new ad campaign with Scarlett Johannson? Yeah. In related news, I will be buying a new pair of undershorts. TMI? You better believe it.

it's january. which means february is right around the corner. which means I'm going to be old soon. Yeah, not just old. OLD OLD. I don't really feel that old, but when I remind myself of my age, or when i was born, i feel older than shit. Seriously. It's like my childhood is over. I'm waiting to retire and die.

Anyways, what do I want to do this year?
-Move out/buy a townhouse
-Take a trip to San Diego in March
-Take a trip to Hawaii later on this year.
-Take a trip to ??? (Japan? Germany? Spain?)
-Go to Vegas several more times (this is a given, but will probably not happen if i do the first item on this list)

This year I'd also like to get in shape (no really. This is it. I have too many thing to do this year which require me to get in shape). By getting in shape, I'll be able to buy any clothes that I want. Which leads me to my next goal, which is to start dressing like John Legend. I figure if I can do these two things, I will not only be much happier with myself (externally, at least), but I will also up my game a few points. Because going back to my first message, I'm getting old. I'm getting way old. I need to find a gf who is everything i'm looking for, marry her, and have kids. No seriously. I need to make my mark on this world before my time is over and the memory of me is gone like a fart in a hurricane.

I would very much like to go to Roberto's and have a california burrito.

I recently learned that they serve a good amount of alcohol at Disneyworld.

Now I have a reason to go.

Ah yes, so yesterday was an interesting day:

-One of the most antisocial persons at my work made a comment to me when i left my office. It was a strange comment, but hey, at least they talked to me! That was crazy!

-Dropped a coworker off at downtown train station, and to kill some time before I went to the sharks game, we got a couple large beers and some food at this irish pub on San Pedro. Not bad (the beer). The food was absolutely average.

-Waited about an hour for people to get to the arena. Lemme tell you, a good strong beer buzz takes ALL the boredom out of waiting. Time went by like it was nothing!

-Sharks win like 31 games straight at home. The game I went to last night was only the second hockey game ever. And what happens, SHARKS LOSE. First the Warriors lost in triple overtime, and now the Sharks lose to Calgary, who btw, whooped them last time they played 5-2. However, it was still fun. Sharks were without a defenseman who TOOK A PUCK TO THE FACE, and still put up a good fight. Final score:3-2. Added bonuses: loudmouth girl who made me crack up. When she yelled, and boy did she, her tone of voice was exactly the same. So whether she was yelling: "Go Sharks!" "I love you Grier!" "Shoot the puck" "Fuck Calgary" "I paid 20 bucks for this ticket", she yelled it with the same gritty white trashy snarly gruff sounding beauty. That had me laughing pretty hard. It's was also very nice to fully understand the rules while watching. (Thank you NHL 09). And don't get me wrong, I had a great time, and it was very fun to watch, but nothing hockey still isn't better than basketball or football. That's just my personal opinion.

-Jon got glasses. WTF?

-I got plain white Jack Parcells. Thanks Brendan! I'm gonna buy me some all black Chucks and i'll be good for a while.

Last month I was in a Kenneth Cole store and I was looking at a pair of jeans. I think looked at the mannequin that was wearing said jeans, with a matching sweater and dress shirt. Looked pretty clean. So I said, "hmm maybe I'll just buy that outfit". "No", my friend says, "you'll look like a tool".

I don't get it. I mean I kind of do. But isn't the point of the mannequins' outfits to show consumers how they might dress the pieces together? I mean, the outfits that the employees put on the mannequins have to go together, and so the train of thought that the employee must have is the same kind of thought that a person would put into putting an outfit together for themselves. So if I see an outfit that a model or a person I know is wearing, or an ad/article in GQ is showing how to match certain pieces with certain other pieces, and then I mimick those outfits, does that make me a tool? Or is simply the act of walking up to the register and buying the outfit in front of the very person that put the outfit together make you look like a tool? If anything, it would show that you don't know how to dress yourself, but it could also be a compliment to the people that put it together. I myself, am horrible at fashion, and so can always use any help I can get.

Logic: 1 My friend: 0. You lose, good day sir.

There is only one way to remove/stop the inkling to compare. And that's to remove the source. Once you remove the source, comparing becomes impossible. And eventually, not comparing becomes habit. That's the only way.

I will not comment on my weight or how I look until March 7th. By then it will have been 3 months of exercising, with little sugar in my diet. But of course, complaints or not, I will exercising until at LEAST Sept 6th, with the only reason why I won't be exercising on the 7th and 8th is because I'll be busy with one of the very reasons why I have to lose weight in the first place.

I will also not complain about planning vegas trips. I actually find it interesting to do research on the city, so it's not so bad to plan the trips. Plus, I have access to my email pretty much my entire workday. Also, indifference isn't just a habit, it's a way of life. That's not a complaint - it's the truth, which simply makes it an observation.

Do I go on vacation this year? I'd like to go to Japan again, but I'd also like to go to Germany for Octoberfest. I'd also like to check out a more serene tropical place. But I'd also like to buy a place and finally move out. And i have to take into account the fact that when one goes on vacation, tons of money is spent. Having to purchase every meal, hotel, transportation, etc. make any vacation fucking expensive. Also, being able to speak the language of the place you're going makes it easier. As much fun as pointing, charades, and body language is, it's not fun when you have to do it every time you go somewhere. Japan is particulary fucking embarassing/frustrating. When I was in Japan and was unable to speak any Japanese, the shame was almost unbearable. I wanted to punch myself for not trying to learn harder, and punch my parents for 1) never speaking to me in Japanese, even just a LITTLE ("we're not fluent" is NO excuse!) and 2) not enrolling me in Japanese school. Now that I'm older/stupider and my brain is no longer a sponge and now forming calcium deposits, it's very difficult to learn how to speak japanese. In addition, with no one around me speaking japanese or having the ability to, it's pretty much impossible.

Speaking of buying a place, I'm still trying to swallow the fact that once I buy a place (I do not want to rent), my savings will be DESTROYED. I mean seriously destroyed. And in addition my savings being beaten the fuck down, my take home pay will also have its ass kicked due to mortgage. I know this is all a reality that EVERYONE is forced to accept and thus I have no right to complain, but FUUUUCCCCKKKK. Hopefully i can find a two or three bedroom place and get someone to rent (Brendan, as long as he doesn't watch Wall-E or bring high school girls back to the place).

I wonder what this year has in store..
